AGERA / アゲーラはスウェーデン語で「行動を起こす」という意味を持ち、また古代ギリシャ語で「エイジレス」を意味する「アゲラトス」を略したもので、この信じられないほど美しいマシンに相応しい名前です。

アゲーラには新たなインテリア機能として「ゴースト」と呼ばれる特徴的な照明システムが採用され、アルミ製エンブレムやスイッチ類にはレーザーエッチングが施されています。

アゲーラは自社開発のVGRホイールが搭載された最初のモデルでした。VGRホイールのスポーク部がタービンの役目をすることでダウンフォースに加えてブレーキの冷却力も大幅に向上させます。フロントとリアでオフセットと幅が異なるため、タービンブレードが常に正しい方向に向くよう、4つのホイールは個別に設計されています。自社開発のVGRホイールは3D加工によって余剰部分を取り除くことにより重量を最小限に抑えつつトップレベルの剛性を実現させています。

CCX、CCXRはこれまで誕生したモデルの性能と機能性をより超越したモデルであり、両モデルには、当時ベストな選択とされたスーパーチャージャー付エンジンを搭載していました。一方でターボチャージャーの進歩により、かつてのターボラグという欠点は解消されていきアゲーラではターボチャージャーが搭載されています。これによりアゲーラは大幅に軽量なパワーユニットで大排気量の大型エンジンに匹敵するトルク、パワーそしてレスポンスを実現して競争力を身につけたのです。
