CCXーーー最新の技術を駆使して開発されたケーニグセグの第3世代モデルです。

CCXはCCRのマイナーチェンジモデルと捉えられ易いですが、実際ほぼ全てのコンポーネントが新設計された為、完全なニューモデルと言えるのです。ボディとシャシーの設計に当たり、従来の手によるデザインではなく3D-CADシステムやCNCマシンが導入され、ケーニグセグ初の次世代モデルとなります。

アメリカ市場に向けてシャーシーが大型化され、ハイテク化がすすめられ電装パネル類のデジタル化がすすめら等、各国の安全基準や環境基準に適合させる設計がなされています。ケーニグセグはこれまでフォード製のエンジンブロックをベースとしていましたが、CCXを皮切りに後の基礎となる自社製エンジンの開発へと移行しました。自社開発によって誕生した806馬力のエンジンは、想像を超える驚異的なパワーウエイトレシオを達成します。また世界で最も厳しい排ガス規制にも適合させ、日常から限界領域までの広いレンジに対応できる究極のエンジンがここに完成したのです。この取り組みは、当時のケーニグセグの様な小規模企業にとっては、非常に大きなチャレンジであったことは言うまでもありません。

CCXは、ケーニグセグのコンセプトである最高速度とサーキットと公道の両側面における最大パフォーマンスを目的で作られ、細部に渡るまで効率性を極めるために不要なエレメントはすべて取り除かれています。

BBC(英)"Top Gear"の放送の中でCCXが樹立したラップタイムは、数年間に渡って破られる事はありませんでした。数々の賞を受賞したCCXのエアロダイナミクスは、そのデザインの力強さと流麗さを表現しています。
